CFHS Weekly Announcements: September 30 - October 5

Camden Fairview’s flu shot clinics are starting this week. Help keep your child healthy and learning at #SchoolEveryDay!

Last week’s attendance rate was 92%, 3% less than our weekly goal. Seniors led the way with 94%, while Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen had 92%. Check your attendance and grades on HAC!

All students who are on early release must sign out in the office every day. Please make sure you are doing so daily

Homecoming t-shirts are now on sale! Prices start at $15. See Mr. Wright in the Choir Room to order your shirt.

Are you interested in learning more about a Speech & Debate program? Please see Mr. Skelton before or after school or between classes. This is an excellent opportunity for students going into a variety of career fields.

The Jostens rep will meet with Seniors and Juniors on Monday, September 30 in the Little Theatre. Seniors will be meeting at 10 am with the rep. Juniors will be meeting with the rep during Cardinal Academy. The rep will be back on October 4 to collect orders from 11 AM to 12:45 PM in the CFHS Library.

The South Central College and Career Fair at SAU Tech is on October 15.  All seniors will have the opportunity to attend this event.

Juniors and Sophomores: The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered to interested students on Wednesday, October 16 at the CFHS Library starting at 8AM. The PSAT/NMSQT measures skills important for college success and helps students continue planning for the future. Each year millions of students take the PSAT/NMSQT test to enter scholarship competitions, prepare for the SAT, and gain access to valuable college and career planning resources. See Mrs. Wooten or Mrs. Richardson in the counseling center if you are interested. The cost is $19.

The South Central Service Cooperative in Camden is hosting an ACT Prep on October 24 from 9AM to 2PM. They will have a break-out for first-time test takers and students who are trying to increase their scores. A pizza lunch will be provided, but students may also bring their lunches. See Mrs. Tavitha Wooten for the Google Link to register.

Juniors and Seniors, the ASVAB test is scheduled for November 5, 2024 at 8:00 AM in the Little Theatre at CFHS. If you’re interested in taking this exam, sign-up in your English class. The ASVAB must be taken if you plan to go into the military.

2024 Camden Fairview Homecoming Shirts are on sale now! Order forms were sent home your students from each building this week. Money and order forms are due to your child's front office by October 4.

Homecoming Week. Homecoming Week is October 14-18. On Homecoming Day, all schools will have a 2-hour early dismissal. Coronation will take place at 12:35 PM in the CFHS Gym; the parade will take place downtown at 3 PM; and the pregame ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM. 

Camden Fairview High School is celebrating the Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 3PM in Downtown Camden! Registration forms can be picked up at Camden Fairview High School or are available online here. All registration forms must be submitted by Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with a fee of $10.00 per car/truck and $5.00 per motorcycle/ATV. This year's theme is "Who brings the Cardinal Spirit?"

Please join us Monday, September 30, for CFHS Volleyball Senior Night. Let’s pack the stands to celebrate the hard work these young women and their coaches have put in this year! JV starts at 4:30, and the senior night events begin right after JV.

Cardinal Tennis has a big week, as they are hosting Senior Night on Tuesday, October 1, against Star City before competing at the Conference Meet on Thursday, October 3, at Monticello. Good luck, Cardinals!

Good luck to Cardinal Cross Country as they travel to El Dorado on October 5!

All students are expected to be on their best behavior and follow all school policies, including the dress code, while attending school events. Students will be banned from after school activities if they are involved in any fights, disrespectful towards administration or any school personnel, or if any prohibited items are found on them or in their vehicles during an event.

6-12 grade students will have 20 minutes after school activities end to leave campus. Students should notify parents ahead of time to let them know what time the activity will end. Announcements are made prior to the activity ending to remind students to contact parents.

Oct. 16 | 1-Hour Early Out Wednesdays

At Camden Fairview, we believe that #AttendanceMatters and that absences are lost opportunities to learn in the classroom. Let's start the year off right - at school every day possible! Some absences are unavoidable, but it’s important that students are at school from bell-to-bell as often as possible.

Regular attendance is often an indicator of higher academic performance. Students who are at #SchoolEveryDay also do better academically in middle school and are more likely to graduate high school.
