Camden Fairview High School Safety Update #5

Camden Fairview High School Safety Update #5

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, a student was reported to be in possession of a knife in a classroom. The CFHS School Resource Officer (SRO) immediately removed the student from the classroom and secured the student in the office.

Following a search of the student, the knife was not immediately recovered. Based on current information, the student did not have a backpack or personal belongings at school that could be searched. Administrators instructed staff to hold all students in classrooms so administrators and SRO/CSSOs could complete a thorough search for the knife. After this search, it was determined that the knife was not in the possession of any other student in the class where the incident occurred, nor was it located in the classroom itself.

Camden Police Department responded to assist, took the student into custody, and ultimately recovered the knife from the student. Our regular student discipline policies and procedures will be followed.

We are reviewing all safety procedures related to this incident to determine what improvements are needed. We remain fully committed to maintaining a secure and supportive environment for every student and staff member.

As an added precaution, there will be an increased law enforcement presence on campus today. We will also have additional counselors available to support students and staff as needed.

With these added supports in place, CFHS is operating on a normal schedule today. The state tournament sendoff for Cardinal Football will continue as planned at 12:30 PM in the CFHS front parking lot. We encourage Cardinal Football families and fans to join us as we cheer our Cardinals on to victory.

Thank you for your support and trust as we continue to place student and staff safety at the forefront of our work.

Camden Fairview High School Safety Update

Camden Fairview High School is currently holding all students and staff in classrooms while administrators and our School Resource Officers address a security concern on campus. All students and staff are safe.

A student was reported to be in possession of a knife. The student is currently in the office with administrators. Out of an abundance of caution, we are limiting movement throughout the building while we complete a thorough search for the knife.

At this time, we are unable to check students out. Once the situation is resolved and we have given an all clear, normal movement and student checkouts will resume. We will notify families immediately when that happens.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work to keep all students safe.

Hey Cardinals - our Turkey Teacher Community Donation Drive is happening now through November 19!

We’re collecting food and snack donations to help stock our Backpack Program, making sure our K–5 Cardinals have food for weekends and school breaks. Here’s the best part — every donation earns points for your 4th period teacher! The teacher with the most points wins bragging rights AND the grade with the most donations earns a special prize!

You can bring in items like ramen noodles, peanut butter, granola bars, fruit cups, or oatmeal packets — and remember, double-point items help your class climb the leaderboard even faster! Let’s come together, show that Cardinal spirit, and help feed our community. Every item, every snack, every dollar makes a difference. Let’s do this, Cards!

As we work together on our Turkey Teacher Food Drive, we also want to share help that’s already here in Camden. If you or someone you know could use support with food this season, visit this page for local food pantries and free meal programs.
