Statement from Camden Fairview School District and Cardinal Football Head Coach Nick Vaughn

Camden Fairview School District has received and accepted the resignation of Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Nick Vaughn, who has accepted the head coaching position at Pulaski County Special School District’s Maumelle High School.

During Coach Vaughn’s tenure, the Camden Fairview football program continued to demonstrate consistency and competitiveness. The Cardinals sustained a strong presence in conference play and extended the program’s postseason tradition, qualifying for the playoffs for the ninth consecutive year. This achievement reflects the program’s stability, high expectations, and strong culture.

Across the past four seasons, the program remained a regular playoff contender, advancing to the quarterfinals once and semifinals twice, and maintained a winning conference record. These outcomes reflect a program built on preparation, accountability, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Beyond wins and losses, Coach Vaughn made a meaningful impact on student-athletes by emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and responsibility. We appreciate his dedication to Camden Fairview and the foundation he leaves for continued success and wish him continued success as he takes the next step in his career.

Looking ahead, the District remains committed to preserving the proud tradition of Camden Fairview athletics while continuing to build a strong, disciplined, and competitive football program that reflects our expectations for excellence. Work is already underway to ensure a thoughtful transition in athletic leadership and football program direction. Additional information will be shared at a later date.

I want to thank Camden Fairview School District for an incredible four years as the head football coach/AD. My deepest gratitude to Johnny Embry, Tara Armstrong, and Ricky Tucker for their support and alignment as well as to Camden Fairview School Board for their unwavering belief in our mission.

To our players, thank you for your commitment to buying into everything we preached about Finishing Empty. By giving all you got, every day, we came together as a family and competed at the highest levels. By pouring into each other, we all became closer and truly learned to play for each other.

To our staff, thank you for always working tirelessly in the best interest of our players. My family and I are truly grateful to the Camden Fairview community for welcoming us with open arms.

The future is undoubtedly bright for Camden Fairview Football and we’re proud to have helped build something special.
